DAS has been engaged to provide the design for a new hotel, restaurant and retail project at the north end of Independence Mall and adjacent to the Constitution Center and the Franklin Mint. Working with the developer ARC Properties and the Hotelier to create a vision for the multi-use project, DAS is developing the design documents for this high profile project. The existing three story brick industrial building will be converted into multiple restaurant and retail spaces. The intermediate floors will be utilized as indoor parking and the existing roof is being developed as a lush rooftop garden oasis. The new roof top will be developed as a transparent space separating the original structure from the new hotel tower above. This area will encompass the hotel lobby, a restaurant, meeting rooms, and an enclosed swimming pool and spa; all with views of Independence Mall. Floating atop the existing building and glass enclosed lobby floor, a 5 story hotel tower rises above. The hotel massing is oriented to focus on views of the Philadelphia skyline, Independence Mall, and the Ben Franklin Bridge.
