Located in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island and nestled among the historic fishing wharfs and classic New England buildings, 41 North is a multi-use hospitality project that is designed for today’s yachting culture. The project encompasses a full service marina for large yachts up to 150 feet in length accompanied by a new exterior dining club and bar pavilion, a 28 room hotel overlooking Newport Harbor with an elegant bar and living room lobby, a library room, a wine room, a fine dining restaurant, and an enclosed garden area for private parties. Also completed is the renovation of one of the existing buildings into a casual contemporary dining bistro and bar called “Christies”. The bar pavilions and dining deck are constructed of custom milled timber with a translucent acrylic roof. A custom designed light lantern hangs over the center of the bar and illuminates the pavilion. The outdoor dining areas are enclosed in glass railings to maximize the views and to offer diners wind protection from the stiff Newport breezes. The large outdoor lounge furnishings were selected from furniture maker “Janus Et Cie”. The hotel design reflects a blend of casual yet sophisticated elegance. The exterior is clad in white cedar shakes enabling it to blend with the traditional vernacular of Newport Harbor. |
