PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Phoenixville Foundry
Phoenixville, PA

PHOENIXVILLE FOUNDRY : BALLROOM : PERFORMANCE VENUE

Once a bustling steel mill at the turn of the century, the Phoenixville Steel Foundry made steel fabrications for bridges and buildings across the country. The Phoenixville Foundry was known for fabricating the "Phoenixville Column"; a round shaped cast iron column held together with steel rivets. It is also said that the Phoenixville Foundry provided steel parts for the "Golden Gate Bridge" in San Francisco.

The last of dozens of steel foundry buildings still standing at this once thriving steel plant, the 13,000 SF "Phoenixville Foundry" was saved from demolition and rehabilitated into a multi-use venue for private parties, weddings, concerts, corporate function and other community uses. The large column free expanse of space is ideal for most venues. The project was designed based on the Department of interiors guidelines for historic rehabilitation as a Federal Historic Tax Credit project.
