Based on a modern interpretation of an authentic Brazilian Churrasco, Chima Steakhouse embodies a rich vibrant, yet sophisticated ambience. Working closely with the Silva Family, owners of Chima Steakhouses, DAS designers researched Brazilian art and architecture as the inspiration for the design of the 20,000 SF restaurant. Images and art depicting Brazils’ Gauchos (Cowboys) are utilized as focal art throughout the design. All of the custom millwork was fabricated in Brazil so that Brazilian woods could be featured in the design.

The new entry was cut into the corner of the existing building and a portion of the floor was reestablished at street level to create a signature restaurant entrance and to add ceiling height to the restaurant foyer. Three large custom fabricated chandeliers fill the foyer with light and provide dramatic eye catching elements for passersby. A glass enclosed hostess desk with concealed LED lighting creates a floating mystique drawing patrons toward it as they arrive. Fire elements are integrated into the glass back bar which is fully visible from the street providing a dramatic fiery glow to the restaurant.
