JONATHAN'S AMERICAN GRILLE : RESTAURANT : BAR : COFFEE SHOP www.jonathansamericangrille.com

Jonathan’s American Grille was created within the historic architectural fabric of the Jenkintown Train Station, located just outside the City of Philadelphia. Originally designed by noted architect Horace Trumbauer at the turn of the 19th century, the train station had been converted to a restaurant in the 1980’s. As that design faded and new ownership took over, DAS was asked to revive this landmark structure. The original station, which featured a domed ceiling, cut granite stone walls and leaded glass windows, has been transformed into a luxurious dining room that seats 120 patrons and can be utilized for both a la carte and ballroom-style dining. For flexibility, the circular center banquettes were designed to be moved to the corners of the room for large party venues.

The bar and coffee café, which serve casual dining fare, are set within the station’s original glazed porch structure providing patrons with an ongoing view of incoming an outgoing trains. Rich colors, vivid fabrics and natural wood tones compliment and contrast the charm and character of the original stone detailing exposed throughout the project. A bakery café serves morning commuters as well as gourmet take out throughout the day and evening.
