Set in
a turn-of-the-century urban industrial building, the much acclaimed
restaurant received awards for its sophisticated and
timeless design.
Preserving many of the building’s original
elements, DAS treated plaster and bead board surfaces with layers
of glaze to provide color and highlight. The design exposed and enhanced
the historic character of the space, while subtly contrasting with
contemporary treatments.
The restaurant features a metal bar top
with natural patina, woven metal ceiling panels, dark leather curving
banquettes, and rusticated steel wall sculptures by internationally
known artist Bill Rauch.
Concealed lighting grazes the tin coffers
and highlights the texture of the original tin ceiling. Each
table is individually top-lit with low voltage mono-point fixtures
to emphasize the food as it arrives. |
